Job Description

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Work with a group of talented researchers in Philips Research China to create meaningful innovation for state-of-art medical ultrasound imaging technology. Philips is the market leader in ultrasound imaging, especially for premium ultrasound. You will get the exciting opportunity to work with researchers/engineers worldwide to create and expand ultrasound imaging techniques into new clinical application areas.

You are responsible for

  • Contribute to research projects that develop advanced ultrasound imaging/ image analysis algorithms for different clinical applications.
  • Contribute to Philips Imaging Systems Business Units through transferring technologies into Philips products
  • Advance the state-of-the-art in the field, including generating patents and publications in top journals and conferences.
  • Apply techniques to large-scale, real-world problems within clinical domains
  • Fast prototyping, feasibility studies, specification and implementation
  • Working with internal and external customers to understand algorithm requirements and deliver solutions

You are a part of

Philips Research, which is the essential force of front end innovation. Philips Research China was established in 2000. The Professional Health department is working on medical imaging, Healthcare IT and chronic disease management. You will be part of the medical imaging and clinical application team in Philips Research China. You will have close interaction with global research team and global Business Unit.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • A Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or other related field. A Master’s degree in the above fields with 3+ years of experience in relevant research areas may also be considered.  
  • Deep understanding on imaging physics of medical ultrasound;
  • Solid experience on algorithm development in ultrasound imaging and image analysis;
  • Highly motivated with a strong interest in clinical research;
  • Proficient in modern scientific programming languages, such as C/C++, matlab, python;
  • Strong communication skills in English;
  • Team player;
  • 3+ years of post-graduate industrial research experience is desired.
