Job Description

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Be part of Procurement organization. Responsible for embedding sustainability in the Procurement function by avoiding brand damage, and managing risk and reputation.

You are responsible for

  • Make Philips yearly Supplier Sustainability Performance Program (SSP) and Environmental Footprint Program (EFP) assessment plan together with relevant CT managers and SAMs.
  • Get yearly SSP and EFP plans implemented and deliver satisfactory results.
  • Drive suppliers to improve their SSP and EFP maturity measured on the basis of supplier self-assessment, submission of evidence, and on-site assessment.
  • Drive suppliers to improve their SSP and EFP performance and show an improvement trend for the 2 programs.
  • Report status of SSP and EFP status monthly and escalate if suppliers have difficulties to improve their sustainability performance.
  • Manage supplier sustainability database to ensure the data are at high quality level to pass annual report audit by an auditing firm (e.g., KPMG, EY)
  • Involve in the supplier selection and qualification process in order to ensure that suppliers to comply with Philips Supplier Sustainability Declaration (SSD) requirements.
  • Define and provide SSP and EFP training (e.g., RBA, EHS, labour law, management system, energy saving methods and technologies) to suppliers for further improving supplier sustainability competency.
  • Identify the training needs for internal SAMs / SQMs and provide training to them on sustainability and energy saving (emission reduction).
  • Improve the supplier sustainability management process in general and Supplier Sustainability Performance (SSP and EFP) and in particular.
  • Communicate supplier sustainability (SSP and EFP) results internally and externally to promote Philips brand value (via internal and external publications).
  • Provide relevant supplier sustainability (SSP and EFP) information to relevant stakeholders on the request basis (e.g., provide such info to China communication department to apply for various sustainability related awards in China).
  • Engage 1st tier suppliers to use Philips SSP and EFP approaches to manage their suppliers to improve their sustainability performance.

You are a part of

Global Supplier Sustainability team, based at Shanghai and report to Supplier Sustainability Director.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Strong assessment or audit competence (e.g., audit expertise on ISO9001, ISO14001, SA8000, ISO45001, RAB)
  • Familiar with relevant Chinese laws such as China Labour Law, Environmental Protection Law, Safety Production Law, etc.
  • Familiar with energy saving technologies and methods
  • Excellent in Chinese and English (both speaking and writing
  • Willing to travel in China (30% travel) for supplier sustainability (SSP) and energy saving (EFP) assessment
  • Qualified SA8000, ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 auditor is preferred
  • Strong improvement mind-set with strong driving power
  • High ability to face pressure
  • Hands-on and paying attention to details.
