Based location is open for Suzhou or Shenyang

In this role, you have the opportunity to

being the global gantry software team leader( tebased in Suzhou, Shenyang and Haifai) with responsibility for functional leadership and management of the Gantry Software Engineering team for CT & PET/CT product lines.

You are responsible for

  • Drive all elements of the Software Engineering function (composed of Software Design, Build, Test and Release) to achieve best in class proficiency
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan to obtain breakthrough level improvement in efficiency and effectiveness of Gantry Software Team
  • Actively promote the use of structured methodologies (i.e. Agile, Six Sigma, Design for Reliability) to realize the Software engineering deliverables
  • Support development of common, global way of working. Ensure the team has an articulated way of working (i.e. key process steps to complete unit project deliverables with expected quality), with verification points and process and product quality and completion metrics to provide in-process insight and early warning.
  • Collaboratively execute Gantry software development plans, with strong alignment with peer functions (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems, Sustaining), Product-level Core Teams, and other subsystems
  • Personnel leadership including skills planning and recruitment, elicitation of employee career aspirations, identification of high potentials, assessment of leadership team capability/potential, assessment and management of team morale, coaching and joint development of career development plans.
  • Ensure project deliverables from Software Engineering are executed within schedule, cost and quality expectations. Drive to institute project risk management as a key routine activity within the Software Engineering team
  • Ensure compliance of resource allocation (People, Material, NRE (Non-Recurring Engineering (costs)), Travel etc.) for each project as per Annual Operating Plan (AOP) commitments- Develop the cross-functional plan/strategy and drives its execution
  • Pro-actively monitor project progress, anticipating the effect of dependencies on schedule
  • Make daily execution decisions and drives execution mechanisms
  • Identify Critical dependencies, risks and contingency planning
  • Identify problems with ongoing activities through the core team and facilitates the problem solving process
  • Responsible for project reviews and team communications
  • Develop the entrance (Integration Readiness) and exit criteria with the cross-functional team
  • Additional duties as assigned

You are a part of

A progressive and energetic team that contributes directly to the growth of the business. You have a direct reporting line to the Director, Gantry Platform, with Cross functional team as your key stakeholders.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelor degree in Computer science/Engineering
  • 10 or more years of hands-on software engineering experience in a product development environment
  • 3-4 years of leading a functional team with qualified software engineers
  • Object oriented programming development experience, C++ or C# programming experience on Windows, or Embedded OS (preferably embedded Linux)
  • Knowledge of Operating System constructs and usage
  • Experienced in Agile development methodology
  • Understanding of IEC62304, and related documentation
  • Familiar with the foundation and approach of software engineering, familiar with the concept and approach of hierarchical software architecture design
  • Ability to work within a cross functional organization with good communication skills.
  • Structured problem analysis and solving
  • Must be open-minded to assure best design is chosen
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills while communicating in both English and Chinese
