In this role, you have the opportunity to

Maximize business performance by driving the Design for eXcellence (DfX) Program as trusted advisor and strategic partner across procurement, businesses, markets and functions. As this program maximizes performance in entire value chains you are a key facilitator of strategic and high-impact business transformation. This generates broad visibility within and beyond procurement which makes this role a great opportunity to further build your career. Specifically, you lead and support DfX conventions that bring together cross-functional expertise and leverage data-analytics for generating innovative ideas to improve integral gross margin over the entire End-to-End value chain. You continuously improve DfX by innovating and tailoring it to internal settings and drive adoption of a DfX mindset in the organization. .

You are responsible for

  • Master DfX methodology (toolbox, processes, etc.) and general consulting skills to effectively lead and drive the DfX program as true expert and trusted advisor.
  • Be a strategic partner to business and procurement management in building and executing the program including funnel building, agreement on the right assignments and assignment implementation.
  • Lead and coach often sizable, global, cross-functional teams along a DfX convention to constructively and creatively collaborate as well as successfully deliver the agreed objectives.
  • Facilitate the teams to generate and validate innovative ideas that optimize for the assigned integrated value chains the trade-off between value, quality and total cost based on key business performance targets and customer criteria.
  • Ensure excellent project and change management focusing on productive engagement and clear alignment between all relevant stakeholders.
  • Drive the cultural transformation that the DfX mindset is adopted in the company and the DfX methodology is anchored in the global I2M (Idea to Market) process.
  • Build internal capability for the DfX program by trainings and coaching as well as institutionalize an extended DfX network to scale up capacity and impact.
  • Manage the program (methodology, funnel, capability building, learnings, communication, change management, risks, quality, time, money, data, etc.) together with your peers from the procurement excellence team and the extended network.
  • Continually improve the DfX program by tailoring it to the challenges and needs of the businesses & Markets and innovating it.

The newly created procurement excellence team dedicated to the Philips Domestic Appliances business. The team maximizes business performance by driving state-of-the-art procurement excellence programs across procurement, businesses, markets and functions. We continuously improve programs by innovating and tailoring them to internal settings and drive transformation to anchor them in the organization. Furthermore, we consult on procurement strategy development to increase procurement impact in meeting strategic business objectives. Key existing programs are DfX (Design for eXcellence), NeX (Negotiation eXcellence) and PMO.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Mindset: Customer first, Take ownership and team up to excel, Integrity always
  • Traits: Proactive, inquisitive and open, highly analytical, structured way of working
  • Master degree in a relevant technical discipline (e.g. Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Thermal, Manufacturing, Industrial)
  • Commercial background related to Procurement/ Supply Chain/ Manufacturing. Preferably with degree (e.g. MBA)
  • Professional with 5+ years proven track record in Procurement/ Supply Chain/ R&D/ Manufacturing
  • Experience in using analytical tools. E.g. Value chain analysis, TCO, benchmarking, clean sheet.
  • Project/ Change Management experience. Preferably with certification
  • Ability to work in an international environment and in/with virtual teams
  • Ability to interact with senior leadership
  • Proficient in English language.
