Sr. System Reliability Engineer

Job Description

System reliability team at CT/AMI, Philips is looking for an experienced reliability engineer with strong background reliability, hardware/software or related engineering fields. The candidate’s primary responsibility will be championing design for reliability on complex medical equipment. This role engages on multiple products and with multiple cross-functional teams globally. Our team’s mission is to design the best in class reliable and safe medical devices.

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Work with R&D product development teams to implement and champion DfR activities and initiatives, develop reliability requirements, establish product level reliability plan, perform reliability test and relevant analyses to ensure that new products meet all the reliability related requirements.

You are responsible for

  • Working with the project teams to develop a reliability program.
  • Communicates reliability metrics through the organization to drive awareness and alignment
  • Establishes the way of working for DFMEA, FTA, Derating, Allocation/Prediction, Tolerance analysis, stress simulation, etc. and leads these efforts on system Hardware and Software (SW reliability skill is plus) when appropriate.
  • Creates reliability test protocols (ALT, HALT, RDT, RGM, etc.)
  • Prepares the reliability analysis and test summary
  • Perform PCBA MTBF prediction and lead component derating analysis to ensure the initial design reliability.
  • Lead reliability and environment testing on new and existing products both product level and component level.
  • Participating in product design and reliability reviews during new product development to ensure robustness of product design and manufacturing processes.
  • Performing statistical data analysis, regression modeling, Weibull Analysis, supplier process capability analysis, reliability target setting, failure trend analysis.
  • Assisting engineering teams to achieve warranty reduction and improve customer satisfaction by leading quality efforts on products.
  • Lead or participate in global DfR promotion program.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in new product design or test with application of reliability tools.
  • Solid experience with reliability test (HALT/ALT/MTBF demonstration) and environment test techniques.
  • Solid experience with Design FMEA implementation, and basic failure modes knowledge on electronic product.
  • Strong statistics knowledge and data analysis ability, e.g. by Weibull++ or Minitab.
  • Basic circuit theory knowledge, solid experience with component reliability test and evaluation.
  • Reliability requirement analysis ability, solid experience with reliability prediction, e.g. by Reliasoft or Relex.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with multiple function team and customer.
  • Good document writing ability and presentation skill.
  • Ability to drive and implement reliability design and test activities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Medical industry or high reliability product design and test experience is preferred.
  • Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), Six Sigma (DFSS) certification Green Belt level or higher is preferred.
