Job Description

Department: Operational Material Management                                                     

General Purpose of the Position:

To manage the availability of material through material and capacity planning and purchase order management with internal and external suppliers, and mitigate in case of supply risks and issues

Major Responsibilities:

   Materials Availability

  • Manage tactical (monthly) and operational (weekly) forecast with suppliers, including validation/confirmation, supplier S&OP meeting / n-tier supply availability check and follow-up
  • Align and balance material planning with materials planning
  • Identify material shortage risks at suppliers, including n-tier
  • Assure internal and external communication to receive information in case of delays and disruptions.
  • Availability issue resolution: manage the mitigation short term to prevent customer delivery impact. Manage hot list meeting.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to mitigate supply disruption
  • Escalate to procurement in case systemic or considerable commercial leverage needed
  • Escalate within Philips according to escalation rules
  • Take action to eliminate root cause
  • Decide / approve special transport (eg air)

Supplier management

  • Flexibility and delivery performance management with suppliers, incl. creating and improving logistics agreements
  • N-tier operational material availability coordination via tier 1
  • Visits suppliers and initiates & runs projects to improve supplier performance
  • Work with PE/CM to define risk suppliers management

    PO management

  • Release PO with PR requirement
  • Tracks order confirmation
  • Monitors open order position, expedites if needed and keeps SAP updated

   Inventory Management and Control

  • Inventory management and ownership. Work with planners to define buy-item stock / replenishment policy (incl SM(O)I, N-tier).
  • Perform inventory analysis. Take actions for slow moving inventory
  • SCM master data check with planners. (MOQ, LT, SS, min/max)
  • Material life cycle management execution.

Skills and Abilities/Qualification:

  • Bachelor degree or above;
  • +3 year experiences in material management;
  • Excellent English in both oral and written;
  • Strong SAP MM Knowledge
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Effective communication
  • Stakeholder management
  • Teamwork and collaboration
