In this role, you have the opportunity to

  • Maximize business performance by initiating, organizing and implementing breakthrough Commodity Strategies, Programs and Policies for the assigned Commodity spend and related Supplier Base to ensure optimum Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Quality, Delivery, Sustainability and Innovation. The assigned Commodity is Plastics, covering raw materials, injection parts and tooling.

You are responsible for:

  • Creating strategic impact by initiating, organizing and implementing of breakthrough Commodity strategies, programs and policies. This strategy includes platforming and standardization of materials, parts and tools.  
  • Relentlessly driving bottom and top-line impact through optimum Sourcing footprint and Supply Base design
  • Managing selected key accounts / suppliers within the Commodity (Supplier Account Management)
  • Leading assigned Supplier Account Manager network to drive Supplier Performance, compliance and risk management across entire Commodity

You are part of:

  • The new Philips Domestic Appliances global Procurement team, directly reporting the Procurement Leader. This Procurement team will be responsible for global procurement (direct and indirect) for Philips Domestic Appliances. To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

  • Master degree in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent.
  • More than 5-year experience as Supplier Account Manager and/or Strategic Buyer role, > 2 years as Commodity Manager with global responsibility in MNCs required, working expertise in / with Plastics (raw materials, parts, plastics) is desired.
  • Strong Business result and strategic orientation
  • Advanced expert in applying Procurement Processes and Methodologies
  • Leveraging supplier relationships for mutual benefits
  • Ability to work in an international environment and in/with virtual teams
  • Ability to interact with senior leadership.
  • Proficient in English language is required, Chinese language is an advantage.
  • Desired: separate expert level certifications in Lean/Six Sigma, Design to Cost and Project Management methodologies
