Job Description

In this role, you have the opportunity to

  • Create user documentation for Philips Healthcare MA products, in a highly collaborative environment. You will work closely with product development teams, engineers, localization engineers, other technical writers and the regulatory and quality teams, to ensure that documentation meets project plan requirements and audience needs.

You are responsible for

  • Develop clinical user and/or installation and service documentation for assigned products:
  • Instructions for Use
  • Installation, Configuration and Service guides
  • Technical Data Sheets
  • Installation Notes/Quick Guides
  • Errata/Addendums as appropriate
  • Interact with customer and functional organizations to develop documentation.
  • Prepare documentation plans from engineering documentation, field requirements and/or customer requirements.
  • Participate in cross functional teams (Product Managers, Clinical Application Specialists, Engineering, Product Support Engineering and Regulatory) to represent documentation status and deliverables; provide input to program schedules and milestones
  • Develop and plan documentation projects and communicate to stakeholders Adhere to Philips templates and process to ensure quality and consistency of deliverables
  • Work with external vendors (e.g. Translation, Printer) through the documentation development lifecycle

You are a part of

  • Professional technical writing and product support engineering team with global exposure, you will be based in Shenzhen and report to Director, Product support engineering and Learning Products.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in technical writing or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience writing and producing technical documentation for products.
  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry and following mandatory processes such as medical device industry preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with ability to research, interpret, analyze and write by interpreting technical source information.
  • Ability to prioritize work, balance multiple projects concurrently and meet strict deadlines.
  • Expertise with Adobe FrameMaker and Adobe Acrobat Pro and strong knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe PhotoShop and Microsoft Office Suite skills-Preferred
  • Good English and Chinese language skills are required
  • Some graphic design experience (a plus).
  • Experience working with DITA (a plus).
