Job Description

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Contribute to Philips Healthcare Sleep & Respiratory China R&D team and build a high growth business that will help improve the lives of millions of people.

You are responsible for

  • Generally acting as lead mechanical engineer in the development of new products in Sleep and respiratory product according to the Philips product development process and in an OEM/ODM relationship with manufacturing suppliers. Also provide technical support to architect in pre-development process.
  • In a concept stage, lead project team in developing product design, perform technical analysis, and define requirements and product specifications.
  • In other words, understand system requirement and translate them into product specification in cooperation with functional team.
  • In a detail design stage, play a leading role to create detailed designs for product, service, manufacturing, service operations and supply chain.
  • In an off-tool stage, verify and release system/element according to the system/element CTQ dashboard. Work with Philips process engineer and supplier team to verify and release the product manufacturing process. Make sure system and part sample measurement are collected correctly according to system/component critical dimensions. Analyze data, implement and maintain design changes.
  • Ongoing engineering documentation to high standard; Product Specifications, dFMEA, dimension and tolerance control table updates & all PDLM Engineering deliverables
  • Actively support team idea funnel process, identify and drive design to value innovation and seek cost-down opportunities of existing products by competitor product teardown analysis, value engineering and idea generating activities

You are a part of

You will be one of engineering team member, who will work independently, but also team up with other functional team for technical decision.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering related discipline, major in mechanical engineering is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with rich product development experience.  
  • Excellent experience with CAD software(Creo 2.0 or others)
  • Excellent knowledge in plastic material, injection tooling and cosmetic treatments.
  • Familiar with Design for Six Sigma, Lean development, dFMEA, VoC-to-CTQ flowdown
  • Microsoft software; PowerPoint, word, excel,
  • Good skill in English, Mandarin,
