Job Description

In this role, you have the opportunity to

You are responsible for

  • Design, check and optimization, realization and integration, life-cycle management, and verification of products, systems and/or solutions.
  • Develops the work with focus on user and business requirements, compliance, quality and cost. Develops high level and detailed designs in accordance with the product requirements and Philips reference architecture requirements.
  • Combines existing and/or purchased elements and parts into (elements of) products, systems and/or solutions. 
  • Finalizes the design and integration, and writes verification plans for the developed elements and parts. Tests, analyses and verifies the quality of the design.
  • Maintains an outside-in approach for the designs created.
  • Delivering input in the planning process to the project manager. Draws up personal schedules and reports on progress in a structured and methodical way.
  • Ensures that documentation takes place according to the provided templates from the I2M processes.

You are a part of

A tiger team based in Shenzhen China. You have a direct reporting line to the R&D functional Manager.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

Education -

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in electronics, automation, or related disciplines.

Experience -

  • At least 10 years professional level experience in developing hardware within medical, or a closely related industry

Skills -

  • Product design in medical industry.
  • Embedded system design focusing on electrical aspects.
  • Excellent technical and business judgment. Ability to interface effectively with various functional areas (software, quality and regulatory, product industrialization).
  • Learn and apply leading edge technologies and innovations.
  • Drive to completion various project activities, including system requirements specifications, risk analysis, solution proposal, schematic and layout, FMEA, design reviews, EMC design and design transfer to manufacturing.
  • Drives verification planning, execution and reporting.
  • Experienced with quality and regulatory requirements applicable to product design and release. Documentation of design deliverables meeting quality control processes.
  • Coach junior staff.
  • Ability to manage aggressive schedule and cost goals, while adhering to quality control processes.
  • Fluent English and Chinese. Coordination and communication skills especially when across different time domains.
