Job Description

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Working closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to develop and implement assigned commodity (mainly focus on Tooling, plus other sheet metal and machining) strategic plans to meet the defined requirements.

Long term assurance of supply, supplier performance and selection and supply management information/data management, providing support and guidance to relevant procurement peers, building of supply market intelligence to support business and or market decisions.

You are responsible for

  • Co-develop, maintain and execute commodity strategies for Tools
  • Responsible for building and maintaining a preferred supply base for Tools
  • Responsible for supplier evaluation and management within the assigned scope.
  • Lead contract and price negotiations for assigned supplier portfolio for direct purchases from Tools suppliers; otherwise provide support to the Supplier Account Manager working with the supplier who requires those tools and molds for the manufacture of Philips parts within their factories.
  •  Responsible for relevant project management assignments within the assigned scope.
  •  Responsible for contract management within the assigned scope (develop, maintain and execute).
  • Responsible for a business process review with the supplier to ensure supplier market trends, performance and future needs of the relevant businesses / markets are aligned.
  •  Ensures compliance to procurement policy for the assigned supplier portfolio.
  • Responsible for tracking and recording all spend and savings for the suppliers within his/her scope, and for ensuring that any Tier2 Savings are also recognized
  • Responsible for inventory management of these tools

You are a part of

Excellent global commodity cluster team in Philips, reporting to Regional Cluster Leader operationally, report to Global Commodity Manager functionally

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Education: BS/MS degree, major in engineering discipline is preferred
  • More than 8 yrs. working experience, at least 4 years in mechanical metal parts and tooling strategic sourcing, experience in MNCs is preferred Good knowledge of cost analysis/should cost/clean sheet.
  • Strong knowledge of the overall cost and supply chain for tools , technologies and processes required to manufacture these tools; Good knowledge and skills of negotiation methodology.
  • Competencies and skills:
  • Strategic thinking with good execution ability.
  • Strong Self-motivated eager to win, take ownership.
  • Good communicator be able to align with cross-functions and drive to get the result.
  • Good command of Chinese and English language is required
