In this role, you have the opportunity to

Influence the strategy and growth in a leading Health Technology company. As a Director in the Greater China Healthtech Strategy team you will directly support and influence key decisions made in China and ultimately at the highest level of Philips organization. You do this as part of high performing teams, driving change across Philips China businesses on wide-ranging strategic topics such as growth, transformation, turn-around, etc. while working on projects, you are constantly exposed to senior leadership across Philips’ businesses, markets and functions, building strong relationships and investing in your future growth. Within Philips, the Strategy team is a proven landing spot for strategy consultants, and a stepping stone for future leaders. There is the opportunity to develop further within the strategy career track, while also having the opportunity to branch into other roles – from general management to marketing and HR. Strategic planning and execution present the ideal opportunity for members of the Strategy team to get to know the businesses better and vice versa.

You are responsible for

  • Create and execute the overall Precision Diagnosis strategy with the Greater China Market Business Management Team and in collaboration with the respective Business and Functions
  • Identifies needs for strategic projects and/or coordinating short “question/answer” projects within the market and facilitate problem solving
  • Sets the strategic agenda for the business and ensure key strategic topic discussed in Management Team meetings
  • Leads development of long-term impactful business opportunities to win against competition and strategic projects (including defining, scoping, chartering and leading Group Strategy Pool projects).
  • Drives the organic | inorganic growth agenda, translating strategy into the need for M&A, Joint Ventures, Venturing and Alliances
  • Drives and validates strategy execution– working closely with Finance, Business Transformation colleagues – that strategies are embedded in the annual operating plan and market plans and builds openness about progress and potential roadblocks
  • Role models thought leadership and ensures up-to-date overview of market, competition, technical, application and societal developments from within and outside the health technology industries in China to ensure active portfolio management improve value.
  • Teams effectively with senior management and interacts with major customers to actively build a network to stay on top of new developments and insights in China
  • Is a close counterpart to the Strategy Pool, Group Strategy, M&A, Partnerships and Ventures in helping to execute on strategies across Philips
  • Is a change agent in the Market, functions as an active and visible driver for transformation

You are a part of

The Strategy, M&A, and Partnership (SMAP) team in China and focuses on providing propositions in the Interventional Guided Therapy (IGT) domain. Greater China market is very important for Philips. With deep roots in China, Philips' products have been present in China since the 1920s and we set up the first joint venture in China in 1985. China is the second largest market of Philips globally, accounting for approximately 15% of the company's annual sales. Headquartered in Shanghai, Philips' commercial footprint in China covers 600+ cities, with multiple R&D and manufacturing sites and more than 8,000 employees. The IGT Business in China is all about helping broaden the reach and deepen the impact of healthcare with solutions that leverage and unite devices, data, technology and most importantly, people across true networks of care to deliver on the quadruple aim.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • 10+ years of overall experience, preferable with 3+ years of experience with a bestin-class Strategy Consulting firm
  • Master’s in Business, Science or Engineering with excellent academic track record
  • International business experience and in-depth experience in digital, specifically in the Health Technology domain. Affinity for driving integrated solutions across hardware, software, and services.
  • Domain knowledge in Interventional Guided Therapy systems, devices, and/or solutions across multiple diseases and procedures is a plus
  • Proven track record of creating significant impact both in strategy definition and strategy execution in multinational organizations
  • Proven conceptual, analytical and interpersonal skills. Consistent record of building significant impact in a multinational organization
  • Coordination of broad set of partners during annual planning or project execution
  • Willingness to travel (30%)
