In this role, you have the opportunity to

The Group Leader manages the R&D and implementation process of products and services. Coordinates sector, departmental or cross-functional teams, focused on delivering new or upgrading existing products. Monitors development from initiation through delivery including planning and directing schedules and monitoring budget/spending. Organizes cross-functional activities, ensuring development is on schedule and within budget constraints. Supervises, hires and fires, selects, develops, coaches and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the development function. Assesses emerging technologies and may determine how to map them into product development roadmaps. Keeps abreast of technical developments through literature, technical contacts, and industry competition. Ensures compliance with product lifecycle and development procedures and processes as well as all applicable quality and regulatory requirements.   

You are responsible for

Lead a talented Electrical R&D team that collaborates closely with global R&D team, local other R&D Engineers, internal and external customers, Product Group Managers, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Engineer and Product quality, Regulatory Affairs, Procurement team, Supplier Quality engineers, Global suppliers, and Operations to develop tubes, generators & detectors related products and to lead product lifecycle management activities.

Develop a team of experienced professionals with world class High Voltage Generator & Tube electrical design & process competency, design for reliability simulation/calculation &execution, excellent global communication & influence skill.

Drive team to develop technical roadmap & product roadmap, conduct productivity funnel & realization, deliver excellent product design quality & reliability, ensure product safety, control product and project budget, and prioritize activities.

The role has moderate autonomy, requiring high levels of operational judgment.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Manage multi-discipline team of engineers dedicated for Image Chain innovation activities, build up world class engineering team with strong functional leadership skill, define Electrical team development structure & competency roadmap, build up Generator design capability, ADU COE and TMC COE in Suzhou.
  • Engage in team performance management, talents development via coaching, mentoring and openly dialog, be responsible for talents acquisition, talents promotion and retention. identify training and growth plans for employees.
  • Create open and safe environment for talents, initiate and lead change for engineering excellence through innovative approach, promote continuous feedback culture by recognizing productive behavior and point out un-productive behavior
  • Create and maintain an organizational culture which encourages innovation, collaboration, excitement/commitment, and a sense of urgency toward goals, and continuous improvement.
  • Design and direct the work of the team, set SMART goal & clear expectations to inspire and motivate the team, recognize achievement on time and administer progressive discipline when necessary.     
  • Take true ownership of all aspects of the product development and next generation technology, work diligently to ensure goals and objectives are met and exceeded.
  • Set the direction of the electrical team congruent with the overall business strategy and driving continuous improvement of subsystems, products, and processes  
  • Provide engineering leadership and design oversight functions for new product development projects include creating and maintaining development schedules, executing product development plans (schedule, product cost, resources to complete project, quality and reliability targets, product specification adherence, development and prove out of product verification & validation plans, etc.)
  • Effectively manage the development process (e.g. design for reliability/quality/safety, global technical design review, design for excellence, medical device regulatory/standard), and make sure the process deployed into design phase.
  • Foster collaboration between Engineering, Manufacturing operations, Service, and other departments to identify and harvest new engineering concepts, technologies, techniques, standards, and procedures.
  • Develop and lead the product development life cycle which includes prompt attention to supply chain issues and obsolescence for both production and service operations.
  • Drive production productivity idea and innovation to improve product competitiveness.
  • Challenge team members to question the status quo and ensure that all aspects of the design, development and support process are optimal for the customer, the product platform /roadmap, the industrial / commercial market.
  • Provide leadership through an entrepreneurial, visionary approach that promotes best practices, market-driven analysis of product technology strategy and customer focus.
  • Work closely with key stake holders internally, externally, local and global, to build a strong collaborative environment across different levels and areas of the global businesses.
  • Develop productive relationships with the company’s functional leaders and teams to leverage their expertise and ensure alignment on the company’s strategy and mission.
  • Strong ability Resource assignment and prioritization including headcount and base cost budget
  • Serve as a Product Owner or Scrum Master for the purposes of managing team activities and deliverables.
  • Work directly with other SAFe Agile teams in developing a global product development roadmap that targets specific customers’ needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PHD or Master of science in electrical Engineering or similar education background.
  • Have 10 years or above experience in product development design.
  • Require strong English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Require strong global interpersonal, influence, communication and leadership skills.
  • Require strong project management skill in planning, marketing, budgeting removing impediment, executing.
  • Experience in electrical engineering design principle, Analog Design and Digital Design, and critical electrical manufacture processing
  • Experience in subsystem architecture design, roadmap development and integration with system
  • Experience in risk management and Design FMEA of medical devices including creation and maintenance of the delivery
  • Experience in medical device standards/regulations, and post marketing surveillance
  • Require excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skill.
  • Require strong ability in lean methodology, upgrading team via continuous improvement
  • Require an in-depth understanding of the product creation process and design methods, such as modelling
  • Drives discussions with stakeholders of cross departments, such as marketing, customer service, operations, etc.
  • Participates in Design Reviews and guides development activities in projects.
