In this role, you have the opportunity to

You are responsible for

  • Leading or supporting identification of research directions in medical imaging area that potentially have high impact on the Philips Healthcare business, based on thorough understanding of unmet needs and up-to-date technological development.
  • Leading or supporting in developing innovative medical imaging solutions with a focus on CT modality according to time, cost, and quality requirement, and achieve good balance for the developed solutions.
  • Leading or supporting in data curation, algorithm design, and clinical study that are needed for developing these solutions.
  • Contributing to establishing and strengthening the group know-how and competency on medical imaging, image analysis and applications, in particular those relevant to the Philips business, and providing technical leadership.
  • Smooth and efficient execution of research projects, and taking efforts in translating research outcome into business opportunities.
  • Actively seeking for open innovation opportunities with universities, institutes and other external knowledge centers, to ensure the success of research projects.
  • Managing well the research outcome in the form of IP, internal technical reports and quality publications, where applicable.
  • Working along with peer colleagues across projects, groups and labs, remain open in sharing insights and make sure communication goes well and timely.

You will work with a group of talented, professional and multi-disciplinary scientists who have passion to deliver meaningful innovation in imaging system, and meantime connecting to the global Research community and related business stakeholders.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Master or PhD degree in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science or a major alike.
  • Three years or above research experience on medical imaging and/or medical image analysis is a must.
  • Understanding and analysis of market, industry and technology trends, and clinical workflow and systems, with an emphasis on radiology or interventional procedures.
  • Excellent research capability demonstrated with good track record (e.g. publications at renowned international journals/conferences).
  • Knowledge and understanding of human physiology and pathology is a strong plus.
  • Knowledge and previous involvement in clinical studies are preferred.
  • Overseas education and research experience is preferred.
  • Passionate on industrial research, eager to learn, open-minded, result-oriented, and with a good team spirit.
  • Efficient and effective in communication, with a good grasp of English both oral and written.
