Job Description

In this role, you will have the opportunity to drive and influence product & supply chain improvements in a leading Health Technology company with Design for eXcellence (DfX) team.  As a DfX Consultant you will have the opportunity to coach and lead cross-functional teams to achieve business improvement on wide-ranging topics, such as platforming, design optimization, sustainability, and new concept development, while making use of a best practice toolkit.

You are responsible for

  • Co-creating 12–18-month business & profitability improvement roadmap, together with business & function partners, based on data driven business insights
  • Coaching the ISC engineering & project team members on Design for eXcellence methodology to create extended network of expertise and drive talent transformation
  • Enabling end-to-end business & profitability improvements through leadership of strategic initiatives & projects that change the way work within the team and across the business (e.g. develop engagement model to support early concept development in R&D, Portfolio Optimization through SKU reduction)
  • Developing and training the Design for eXcellence methodology to enable enhancement of talent across the Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) and BU’s
  • Supporting knowledge management through maintaining and expanding our toolkit and best practice database
  • Enabling the digital transformation within Integrated Supply Chain Engineering and the DfX team

You are a part of a global team of Design for eXcellence consultants, with wide-ranging backgrounds and competencies, within the ISC Engineering team. You will work globally with a team of experienced consultants to drive end to end improvements across Philips, while ensuring continuous focus on delivering better patient outcomes

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • 5+ years’ experience driving operational excellence or continuous improvement programs in complex organizational environment, preferably in a regulated industry (e.g. Healthcare, Aerospace, Automotive)
  • Creative and innovative thinker, with strong engineering foundation in product development
  • Strong leadership & communication skills, with demonstrated experience coaching/advising teams for development to drive transformation
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex processes, data sets and financial scenarios
  • Bias towards actionable, pragmatic solutions to drive and achieve successful execution
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or Technical related field and MBA (or equivalent business-related experience)

Preferred Qualifications/Skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge of SAFe/Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen techniques, value proposition creation and/or design thinking
  • Proficient with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g. Qlikview, Tableau, R, SQL, Python, OBS)
  • Familiarity with health systems supply base in relevant markets
  • PMP certification a plus
