In this role, you have the opportunity to make life better

Collaborate to the creation of an excellent UX for a broad range of healthcare related solutions. Furthermore the role will be executing usability evaluations in several stages of the design process in order to identify areas where usability, safety and the overall user experience can be improved.

You are responsible for

  • Perform workflow analysis and user research to understand the context of use and elicit user needs and usability requirements.
  • Define usability validation plans and organize usability activities in co-operation with business partners (e.g., project managers, clinical marketing).
  • Conduct user testing and expert reviews (e.g., cognitive walkthroughs) for the evaluation of Philips Healthcare products using established usability engineering practices.
  • Advise on the usability aspect of design changes with the design team.
  • Ensure that usability engineering is applied according to international standards (such as IEC 62366, FDA Guidance on Human factors).
  • Ensure a good co-operation with other disciplines within the department, with Philips Design, and with similar disciplines in the other Philips Healthcare.
  • Participate to design reviews.
  • Usability testing.
  • Plan and organize usability evaluations in co-operation with stakeholders such as product managers, project managers and end-users.
  • Introducing and explaining the usability standard clauses to team.
  • Organizing to share the Lesson Learn of usability testing, design and related standard.
  • Other duties as assigned.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a customer-first attitude and the following

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Factors Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Electro-mechanical, Electronic, or other appropriate technical discipline.
  • 3+ years’ working experience in medical device Usability Design or Testing, preferably in medical device industry.
  • Experience with human-centered design methods, such as focus groups, interviews, contextual inquiries, usability evaluation, documentation, and reporting.
  • Independently working on project activities with a good understanding of budget and time constraints, driving efficiency, and facilitating design quality reviews
  • Must have strong logistic and analyzing ability, clear thinker.
  • Must have good problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills (including public presentation skills).
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Must be enthusiastic, positive and effective in building working relationships with cross functional teams.
  • Good verbal and written skills in Mandarin and English.
