In this role, you have the opportunity to

Work within our IGT (Image Guided Therapy) business unit as an Advanced Mechanical Engineer. This role is calling for a candidate that has a proven track record in the development of sophisticated mechatronic/mechanical systems. Also, experienced working with many different stakeholders on safety critical products for use within the healthcare domain.

You are responsible for

Within the scope of new product developments and product life cycle activities, your key responsibilities include:

  • Technical Product Documentation (TPD) and Bill of Material (BOM) creation.
  • 2D/3D CAD engineering of mechanical parts.
  • Change and configuration management of released parts.
  • Execute engineering changes according Philips’s procedures (Product Development Launch and Maintenance).
  • Maintain product data including DHF (Design History File) and DMR (Device Master Record) of medical products.

You are a part of

You are part of the newly formed IGT Cluster R&D organization in Philips China and located in Suzhou: a global extension of the Image Guided Therapy (IGT) Business Unit of Philips Healthcare. This Business Unit is responsible for marketing, development and manufacturing of X-Ray systems for cardiac or vascular medical diagnosis and intervention (e.g., balloon angioplasty and stent procedures). Customers are interventional specialists, in the cardiology and radiology domain operating in a wide variety of hospitals across the globe.

Your department consists out of approximately 25 highly qualified and motivated Mechanics, Electronics and Mechatronics developers and works closely together with the Mechatronics Development Cluster within R&D IGT Systems.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • BSc in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years experience in R&D.
  • Preferable experience in the Healthcare domain, or another highly regulated environment (Medical, Automotive or Aerospace/Defense).
  • Experienced user of Windchill cPLM (common Product Lifecylce Management).
  • Experienced user of CAD/Creo.
  • Quality mindset.
  • Good communicator and capable to get things done from multiple stakeholders from different professions within Philips. Norm compliance, engineering leads, procurement, supplier quality, packaging.
  • Likes to work in an operational atmosphere within R&D according defined processes.
  • Has affinity with agile and lean.
  • Experience working in a SAFe organizational model is preferred.
  • Experienced user of Excel is preferred.
  • Superior documentation skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills while communicating in both English and Chinese.
